The 5th Convocation of Northern University Bangladesh was held on 9th February 2020, at NUB Permanent Campus, Ashkona, Dakkhin Khan, Dhaka. Dr. Dipu Moni, M.P, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh presided over the ceremony on behalf of the Hon’ble President & Chancellor Mr. Abdul Hamid. While Mr. Ayman Sadiq, Founder-CEO, 10 Minute School and Mr. Hussain M Elius, CEO, Pathao Ltd. were present as the Convocation Speakers. The ceremony was also addressed by Professor Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Abdullah, Hon’ble Chairman, NUB Trust and Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Vice-Chancellor, Northern University Bangladesh.
Hon’ble Education Minister, Dr. Dipu Moni, M.P, opined that the Private Universities must take measures to remove all the barriers in respect of imparting quality higher education in their own interest. More sincere endeavors of the private universities are required to attain the desired goal. And congratulating the graduates, the Education Minister urged upon them to work for the interest of the common people.
Undergraduate and graduate degrees were conferred on the 3435 students from different disciplines, and ten meritorious students were awarded Gold Medals for their excellent results.
Convocation Speaker Mr. Ayman Sadiq congratulated the graduates who received their degrees and said that Students of NUB will undoubtedly play a vital role in what is to come next in our country, and Mr. Hussain M Elius said that world is moving faster, so we must learning ourselves with technology based. Education does not stop in our schools and universities- we all have to learning and to keep on moving forward.
Dr. Mashiur Rahman, Advisor to Hon'ble Prime Minister on Economic Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the Guest of Honor and Professor Dr. Kazi Shahidullah, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh was present as the Special Guest.
Vote of thanks was conducted by Pro-Vice Chancellor of Northern University Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Engr. Md. Humayun Kabir.
All Deans, Heads of the departments, Teachers, Administrative Staffs, Journalists, Educationists and Vice-Chancellors of different universities attended the convocation program.
